The end of the school year is a time to look back and see how much has been learned. It is the time to see how our children have grown in confidence, supporting each other and putting in all their efforts for their final tests. We share the pride of our first graders as they can read a whole little book now and congratulate the ones that conclude their journey in Cabella School, seeking Mother’s blessings for them as they move on to share their treasures with a new school.

In Shri Mataji’s schools, learning has many dimensions. The Arts always take an important place, and this year end buzzed with the conclusion of a multitude of small and very large creative projects. At Adi Shakti Puja, children and staff offered a mosaic representing Mother Mary, prepared according to century-old byzantine traditional methods. The weekly choir sessions concluded with a concert in the public “Festa della Musica” on the Cabella square. And on the Friday evening of Adi Shakti Puja school staff and children performed the musical “The Wizard of Oz” – an amazing full-evening, spectacularly and meticulously prepared performance bringing together the hearts and dedication of adults and children alike, months of drama and music lessons, of stitching costumes and building trees, gates and houses for the set, all offered at Mother’s feet with exuberant joy.

And through and beyond all of that, our greatest joy is to see these children grow as yogis, see how they learn to introspect and are guided in discovering themselves. While we climb the hills in this beautiful valley where Shri Mataji walked, put up our tents for a sleepover or sing bhajans around the fire, friendships are built that will last for life. When the children express their devotion, we are taken to new depths of silence at Shri Mataji’s Lotus Feet… Here are some of their reflections on what they learned this year:

I have learned how to trust the power of meditation and vibrations (Satya, class 5).
I learned that through meditation you can connect to people with strings of love (Ananya, class 4).
I learned that there is no such thing as mistakes but they are just lessons, and the most important thing is that you learn from them (Yasmin, class 4).
I take with me that we can always trust our brothers and sisters to help us (Maya, class 5).
I will bring joy and innocence in my new school, where I will go next year (Giulia, class 5).

Cabella School is a great place of learning, for children, but also for staff. Enjoying the innocence and wisdom of the children, working under the loving attention and guidance of Shri Mataji, is an experience of education so strong one could consider it as a Sahaj university degree.
