Nirmal Arts Easter Academy welcomes sculptor Elisa Bona sharing the magic of her ceramics

Nicolette Van T'Hek is unable to attend the Easter Edition for personal reasons. Turin based sculptor Elisa Bona will conduct the sculpture course

An interesting and intense Easter weekend of arts education for all the Sahaja Yogis is being held at the Ciminiera in Cantalupo Ligure from 14 to 17 April 2017. Four courses in four days: learning to speak in public with Purna Giovannangeli, Barathanatyam dance with Valeria Vespaziani and meditation in motion with Minoo Samii.

Elisa Bona was born in Turin in 1965. From 1984 to 1987 she was a student of artist Mario Giani, aka Clizia, sculptor, ceramicist and painter. She lives and works in Turin, creating ceramic sculptures and installations. Since 1994 she has been teaching art in elementary schools in Turin and its provinces; collaborating with the cultural association The Argonauts of Collegno and with social cooperatives. In addition to adult education, she teaches pottery to people with disabilities and children.

"I have been teaching ceramic sculpture for many years - says Elisa - it is a bit different from classical sculpture and there are a a wide variety of techniques. My creations are born using a technique called "vacuum", as in the construction of pots. We have selected the theme of "hands" for this workshop because of their importance in communication and at a subtle level for the Sahaja collective. It’s so nice to be able to feel a specific chakra and work on it with confidence, so that difficulties can be resolved at several levels; hands, as we all know, are connected to the Vishuddhi chakra.”
